Davina Does Darwin – The Original
Davina Does Darwin was first created more than 20 years ago while I was living in Darwin. Inspired by the unique spirit, colour and character of the Top End, she features a confident, sassy Diva taking a stroll with not one, but two crocodiles—the iconic creatures synonymous with tropical North Australia.
Over the years, Davina has become one of my most recognisable and beloved characters. She has been recreated many times in both gouache and acrylic, with each version bringing its own personality and flair. Her popularity has also seen her appear on a range of merchandise including prints, magnets, greeting cards, stickers and cushions.
A true icon in my collection, Davina continues to charm collectors and visitors alike. After two decades, she's still strutting her stuff, and I have no doubt she'll inspire many more colourful creations in the years to come.
